About Us

We’re a political action committee (PAC) for governance literacy, civic sovereignty, and small business empowerment.

Our Mission

To rebuild trust in democracy by putting people over party and community over conflict- advancing governance literacy, local sovereignty, and small business empowerment so every citizen can shape the decisions that shape their lives.

“Power without love is reckless and abusive, and love without power is sentimental and anemic. Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice, and justice at its best is power correcting everything that stands against love.”

— Martin Luther King, Jr.

Core Values

  1. People Over Party- Our loyalty is to our neighbors and our shared future- not partisan divisions. Collaboration begins where people live and work.

  2. Local Sovereignty- Real democracy starts at the community level. Local voices should lead local decisions- from economic development to education and governance.

  3. Governance Literacy- Every citizen should understand how local government operates, how budgets are made, and how to influence policy. Knowledge builds confidence and accountability.

  4. Economic Empowerment & Small Business- Thriving small businesses are the cornerstone of self-reliant communities. Local ownership builds wealth, independence, and civic pride.

  5. Transparency & Accountability- Local governments must be open books. Citizens have a right to know how decisions are made and how money is spent.

  6. Equity & Access- Every community-rural, urban, and in between- deserves access to the tools, knowledge, and a capital needed to participate fully in democracy and the economy.

  7. Nonpartisan Stewardship- Local progress depends on collaboration, con confrontation. Civic renewal grows when people of all beliefs work together for their town, not their party.

Strategic Efforts & Initiative

  1. Local Governance Literacy- Launch “Your Town, Your Power”- A campaign that explains how local government works, from zoning to school budgets.

  2. Develop online and in-person civic education programs that help residents understand and influence city, county, and decision-making.

  3. Community-Based Economic Empowerment- Advocate for policies that support small, locally owned businesses- reducing barriers, simplifying regulations, and encouraging community investment. Promote public-private partnerships that keep wealth circulating within local communities.

  4. Leadership & Civic Stewardship- Create Better Together Leaadership Labs– training for local leaders, entrepreneurs, and citizens on ethical governance, coalition-building and civic innovation.

  5. Mentor emerging local candidates who prioritize people and transparency over party loyalty.

  6. Grassroots Coalitions & Hubs- Establish Better Together Hubs– community spaces that unite civic education, entrepreneurship support, and local issue dialogue under one roof.

  7. Support community organizing projects that connect governance and learning with tangible action- from neighborhood planning to small business advocacy.

  8. Policy & Advocacy- Support legislation that strengthens civic education, local control, and transparency across all levels of government. Advocate for state and federal programs that fund local entrepreneurship and governance innovation, rather than top-down mandates.

Long Term Vision

A state of self-reliant, informed, and united communities- where citizens understand how power works, use it responsibly, and ensure that government remains accountable to the people it serves.

Democracy begins on our own streets, in our own schools, and through our own businesses. Better Together exists to make that power local again.
